Post by: Bruce on July 06, 2006, 10:38:42 PM: Alan loaned me his backup motor, so I stuck it in my yellow car. With my smaller carbs, it'll probably only make about 200-205 hp. Since my Hormiga gearbox is way stiffer than Alan's gears, short times should be even better than Alan's.

'twas a pity that the sport compact class was so large and that the hondas were soiling the starting line after their front wheel drive, turn the steering wheel from side to side burn outs.

kudos to james for driving his car to the track, making runs and tuning and improving his times as the night went on, and then driving home. good job buddy.

Post by: AlanU on July 08, 2006, 09:03:07 AM: I'm speculating but the air wasn't all that great that night. My best run that night was 12.22@107.20 with an a/f ratio of 12:1. Man was that track sticky for a while due to the sun. I gotta get use to the mods I've done in the winter. Last run of the night the air got better and I picked up on HP cause my MPH went upto 108.49MPH.

I got a little air time :D

what was funny was when i ended up in the line up with the domestics and the track man says sorry but your in the wrong class and was about to make me leave the line up , but after i explained that i was getting gas and had my helmet on and did not hear the speaker correctly as well as the guy beside me in the chev was telling me he was going to woop my ass bad ,he let me run against him
poor chev never stood a chance :D
but we learned one thing that night .with that many honda's spraying water all over the launch pad with there frt wheel drives doing all kind of funny burnouts ,next time we will run outlaw just to get better track conditions.
got to go with alan down the track 2 times and must admit its alot of fun going toe to toe with someone you know.

the black magic is a hooker but it does seem to have some \"give\"

Bus 091 idler on the 1st gear 9 tooth modified by Mr. Tweddle. Should be beefier than the beetle 1st gear idler.

Man was that track sticky then next thing you know it I was losing alot of traction peg legging with my ghetto open superdiff.
