Just got off the phone with Jim a while ago, he has run a best of 11.9X @ 114.XX MPH progressing a soft 50 shot on 94 octane. his 60 foot was a real easy 1.81 so that run could have been an 11.70 ( he is trying to not blow the tranny first day back out)

what an absolutely fun-filled day at the track.
at 530am both jim and i are watching the local weather reports on tv and scouring the www for weather reports. you wonder why meteorologists get paid to throw darts at a dart board with pictures of suns & clouds & raindrops on them.
if it wasnt for ashley's (jims daughter) magic weather wand we would have been farked. but the rain stayed away and it was mostly sunny and slightly overcast.
jim called me at 630am and says we're cleared for takeoff. load up & hit the highway and we're at the track by 9-ish and off the trailer the car runs a 12.9X at 105.XX mph.
sucked in a valve cover gasket on that first run. spent some time in the pits fixing, tuning and recording data and got in 6 more runs after that. all jims times and mph got progressively better as the day went on.
a couple of things to note is that jim is skipping the burnout box, easing off the line (no super hard launches...yet), can make up some time on the 60foot (as mentioned by darren) and it was windy as hell. factor all these into the mix and you know that the car can go way faster.
we were the only 4 cylinder running at the test & tune so jim was up against cars with twice as many combustion chambers and kept up quite well.
pitted next to a real nice guy by the name of bill. he helps tech at mission and was a pleasure to shoot the shit with.

at one point bill & jim went head to head and jim was only behind him by less that 1 second through the traps. and bills car runs consecutive low 11's. and we're talking knocking on 10's door low 11's.
congrats on the 11 second time slip jim and happy birthday.
all in all it was an awesome day at the track and i'm itching to get back out there. B)
jim is enjoying an 11 second wok birthday dinner with family and friends but i'm sure he will chime in here later and give you all the info on today's festivities.
btw, the car is still in one piece and drove on the trailer at the end of the day.
