Post by: silas on June 14, 2006, 09:34:12 PM
anyone ever do it and have any tricks they want to pass on? are there replacement clips or should i just salvage one off the spare?

i'm thinking grind off or drill out the old and weld in the new. anything else to consider?

Small panhead screws and nuts. So if they break again easy fix.

I've tried to hammer new official VW part rivets, but gave up after two of them. I didn't have the proper press to do it. I ending up using large rivets, which held nicely and didn't have to keep checking that the nut and bolt were still on.
