All my previous VWs where in Puerto Rico and Hawaii. I have been under the time after time and I have never seen anything like this.

Tje only thing I would think would be a heater of some sort.

Not DVKK...but that is indeed the gas heater installed by the factory on '67 & '68 Beetles...

VW called that a heater booster. That version is junk. Don't waste your time trying to get it to work. Just throw it away.

Thanks, that will save me some time, weight, and space.

But i got a 66, or do I?
Any other places I should look for , to id the year/model?

Emilio, My 66 bug has a gas heater like that, as did my 69 Ghia.
-
It's called a Webasto heater and I've seen them as early as 60.

When you get it out, clean off the ID tag.
I know that 65s sold in Canada had Eberspacher gas heaters, as did 69s. And 67 & 68s got the heater booster like yours, but I wasn't sure about 66s. Do you also have an extra indicator light drilled into the dash near the top of the speedo?

Hey Emilio,
if you're tossing it, I'll gladly take it, I need an extra push of my heat, and would be curious to see how it works. I had one of my previous 68's and the air flow seemed good. Let me know
