Title: Stub Axle Removal
Post by: Jeremy on June 06, 2006, 08:30:28 AM
What's the trick to removing the stub axles from irs trailing arms? I've got the axle stripped down to trhe point I can see the bearing but can't seem to drive the axle out. Am I missing a C-clip or something? Thanks.

I have a big princess auto bearing puller for that job.
The bearings and the inner sleeve sometimes get stuck to the shaft so the shaft has to be pushed thru.
If your changing the bearings after, remember there is a big snap ring next to the ball bearing on the CV joint side.

I got it. Just used a bigger hammer.
