Nice Job! Did you remember to remove the center from the new PP to match the old one? Or was it the wrong PP in the car to begin with?
-
Hey Geoff,
We did remove the center on the new pressure plate. The transmission was a very late one with a throwout bearing with VERY wide shoulders and clips. So it wasn't the same one that you sold rich:( Good news though it was in really good shape so we just reused it..

wow, a rare 2 piece clutch disc :o
-
I think by far the best part though was when we got the engine pulled first noticing it. I thought the pressure plate had given up the ghost and had allowed the whole clutch to move back and forth. Once we got it off we discovered it was in a couple pieces much due to our shock.

That is one to remember.
Tooo much power.

Too much power indeed :P
I'm just glad that the clutch was the problem and it wasn't anything bigger. No wonder I didn't know what problem I was having...I've never seen a clutch break in two like this. Oh well, I'll know for next time haha.
BTW...Emilio, I saw you on Kingsway today around 4ish. I was driving a red Jetta coupe.
