Do regular beetle pan replacements fit verts?
Thanks
-
I am not an expert on verts. But I believe vert pans are heavily reinforced, since there is no roof. A regular pan would fit but you would have some serious issues with trying to keep the car from twisting itself (i.e. no integrity).

When I replaced the floor pans on the 63 vert they were regular sedan beetle pan halfs, I just ground off the jack post so it would clear the Convertable support rails
-
So you could fit new pan halfs inbetween the reenforcement channel of the vert?It looks like the reenforcement is soft too.The body is twisting or flexing and the doors are going in and out of alignment, being wider at the top of the door.

Contact Slammedbus on this forum. He just finished doing the full on the '63 vert pictured above. He would be able to aid you in your quest.

From what I've seen the pans are all the same it's just that the vert's use the extra reinforcement rail underneath.

same pan
all support is on the rail

Same pan you will just need to trim the edges back about 3/8" so they will clear the support rails when the shell gets dropped on.

you know I think they are the same.

I just completed 2 convertible resto.
same pan just have to remove /modify jack stand surport.
