Title: Ignition Problems

I have a 2165cc motor with a new altenator and electronic points, the problem that I am having is that My car is hard to start and if I take off the lead wire from the ignition coil to the distributer and hold it 1/2 inch away it fires right up could you please help make since of it. thanks

Are you sure you got the wires connected to the coil correctly?

I believe so. I got a diagram off the internet on how to wire in an altenator and I believe that it showed all that all though i dont have that anymore.
