if you are converting from a generatoryou may need to add a shim or two behind the lower pulley

tanner

did you get it sorted out?

i'm not sure i understand your question.

is the belt on the crankshaft pulley and the alt pulley and it wont turn? if it's too tight, you'll want to swap some shims. you want about 1/2\" of belt deflection.

are you trying to take the whole shroud out?
make sure the strap around the alternator is removed.
i think the last time i did it i removed the bolts into the shroud holding the alternator and fan assembly in place.i can't remember if i removed the alt. stand or not.
then you should be abler to pull the whole assembly out

Go underneith the car and look up on the passenger side. Above the heater box there is a round piece that is still probably connected. I beleive it goes straight through the cylinder tin and is attatched to the fan flaps. I cant remember what the part is called. Good luck.

Did you buy the alt kit from us? All our kit's come with instructions.

As for the shroud not coming off, Like Brian mentioned you may have the heater flaps still connected. You may want to think about getting a manual. We have some cheap ones that will save you a lot of time and money.
Geoff.
