Post by: shovel80 on April 15, 2006, 08:33:18 AM
Picked up a working cylinder head temp guage at a garage sale today for 10 bucks I think that is a great find I was wondering what cylinder is the one that runs the hottest or were is the best place to mount the thermopile to get a good reading
Thanks Dave

On a single-port engine, where the oil cooler is obstructing the cooling air flow, the #3 cylinder will run the hottest. Typically, the head temp sensor will be located at the #3 cylinder, even on \"doghouse\" shrouded cars where the oil cooler is not in the way.
