Although the swap seemed a little smaller the show car count was up and I think the new building with the swap and car show in one was a good idea.
Thrasher, was taking pic's all weekend long so I'm sure he has a few good ones.
The highlight of the weekend was getting to the \"My Girl\" Diner and museum. If you havent heard or know anything about this place your jaw would drop like ours did. It's way out in the country...well to us it was. It's about 45 min from Puyallup up past Bremerton. I belive the guy who ownes it was named Bob Thompson....I could be wrong?
He was a great guy, took us around and showed us all his cars and colectables.
This is his own place not open to the public, as in he lives there and has a diner, museum, old gas station and get this!!!! a short drag strip with burn out box, lights, tower, stands and snack shop! The ultimate place for any car guy. You drive up a small dirt driveway aprox 100-100 yars and crest the hill to see this amazing place.

WoW! there really needs to be a happening for VWs at the \"My Girl\"!
I thought the new building was great at Puyallup. Next year the swap will probably be bigger as last year turned a few off. word will get out.
I have to congratulate Geoff on his 1st place Bus win. (I was somewhat shocked that my split placed 2nd in semi-custom :o . Maybe if i clean the car up next time,,,,,,,,,,,

That was a fun night. That trailer that says \"elvis\" was actually his during a movie that he made. You could have gone in there and looked around. What do you think his old mattress would go for on e-bay?

It was a good show, but the new buildings remind me of how much I miss that barn smell of livestock. I hadn't been down in almost 10 years, and while the quality of cars has vastly improved, the swap seemed to be weaker than what I recall (although everybody else seemed to find great deals (not mentioning any names: Lanny) I didn't see anything I wanted/couldn't live without). Wasn't there a lot more literature there in years gone by? The cars were excellent, and the diversity was great to see. Had I entered my daily driver flat black '69 Ghia, I would have gotten at least second place as there was only one ratty '57 in the whole joint.
Nice to see so many locals there, and despite his reputation, Geoff was a perfect gentleman back at the motel.
P.S.: red snapper's a cheap drunk on Canadian Budweiser!
Next year, we caravan down in huge numbers and take them fast-talkin' Yankees by force!
