Title: Stave Lake
Post by: LIQUID on April 02, 2006, 08:00:21 PM
Went to stave lake today and had an absolute blast. It always amazes me how much attention i get when i show up with my Baja in tow and even more when i fire up the red beast, which is nothing special compared to most. It blows my mind how many people were video taping and taking pictures of me ripping around. I guess it's cool to be different. But like a dumbass i forgot to take my camera so here are some pics of it  when i got home.

Put a nylon over the airfilter. Looks like you had fun!

Hans maybe it's time to revive the ice racer!

it will act like a pre-filter& cheaper to replace than air filters. ;)

Ya just put a nylon over it and like Hans said block off your heater hose outlets.

Like the man said they make good pre filters! Are you running a stock solex? If so somewheres I have a filter that attaches with 2\" pipe and runs up to a larger 6- 8\" filter covered inside a pot. Using the nylons Knee high work great when pluged you throw them away or rinse them out and give them back to your wife or girfriend!!  We used to all run the nylons on our rails now you can get outerwears from EMPI . Airspeed might be able to get you some. Yes and plug the heaterout lets before you get so much mud no air movement on the fan!

i believe the carb is a progressive 2 barrel, i think it's a holley. i would really like it to breath from inside the car that way nothing can get in, especially water.

Off to Walmart for a bread loaf pan or better yet a rectangular tupperware box. Cut a hole in the bottom same shape as the ac base and sandwich it between the ac and the carb. Cut a round hole in the lid and glue, silicone or urethane in a length of dryer hose. What you do with the other end of the hose is entirely up to you.
