Title: Updating Brakes System
Post by: egspot on April 02, 2006, 09:15:44 AM
Is there a master cylinder that has two lines out saparating front and back brakes that would fit on a 1966 Type 1?
How difficult would it be to fit it in and replaced the old one?

the 67 and later master cylinder will work
looky here http://www.airspeedparts.com/catalog/produ...a8004e6a51509af (http://www.airspeedparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=154&osCsid=e4a7d8bfbbd89db53a8004e6a51509af)
what you will need to do is
a) put a \"t\" from your resevoir
B) use a 67 only resevoir (looks the same as yours but has 2 outlets)
c) make a bracket for a late model style resevoir
d) or ive heard (but havent tried) that an early volvo resevoir will snap directly into the top of a beetle master cylinder.

Hey Egspot,
I put a different resevoir in my beetle. You need also some blue cloth covered house and the metal pipes. My Resevoir is mounted to the front beam! Cheers!
