My wife and I and the kids took a much deserved break this weekend and took ourselves off to Bristol, where my wife was Born, loads for the kids to do, which meens that we get to relax and just chill for a change. Bristol is steeped history and is over 900 years old, we walked past a dig that was going on, they had unearthed some walls and various what looked liked corridors, interesting if ya like history. It was a port and many famous vessels sailed from it, like the S.S. Great Britain which took the first immigrants to Australia back in the 1700's.
Sorry no pics to show as having far too much fun, forgot camera and left it at home oops.
Anyway if you happen to be travelling to this neck of the woods then be sure to make Bristol one of your stops, you wont regret it.

I was there 3 years ago..amazing. It makes the west feel sooo young. If you are a fan of maritime history like myself, Bristol, Portsmouth and Greenwich are must see places.

Haven't spent much time in England but I've been to Ireland twice, Scotland once and England once. Ireland is my favorite place to go. Going to Belfast in April and possibly Glasgow next spring. I'd move to Ireland in a heartbeat if I could talk my wife into the idea.
