Title: Hood Bolt Size?

does anyone happen to know the bolt size of the bolt that bolts the hood to the car on an oval?

I believe the bolt is an 8mm, and the head (size socket) is a 10mm.

don't take my word on it because you are asking about an oval, but thats what my 1958 used stock and ovals and my old 58 both have 4 tab hoods.

I have found that my older beetles use a 8mm with a 14mm head? most seem to be original
and thats all i can say Good luck! :blink:
