Title: Porsche Wheel Fit

Anyone running porsche wheels 7j x 15/52.3mm offset with stock front fenders?
I have a 2\" narrowed IRS beam with no brakes as yet.
Just wondering what people are running with theirs?

I'm not sure about the 15x7 but Jag (Buddy Guy) is running 16x7 all the way around on his 75 STD beetle with a 3\" beam.

they work great , i had to narrow my beam 3'' , AND drill my drums to make them fit ,(the adaptors that were on there still made them stick out  half an inch) ,.... i think i still after all that bent the lip on thw finders because it was really close.

don't get your drums drilled from C.I.P.  , not mentioning any names , but the owner was a dick when i was getting my drums drilled , took them 7 months !!!!....

I'll probably be running my early 944 N/A single pot disc brakes.

I am working on getting the rear arms and discs as well  B)
Only trouble is I can't run drop spindles with the 944 fronts.
So I have to be a little more conservative with the front drop.

Are you running the 52mm offset Budy?

yes , i talked to geoff , and we have the same offset.

if your disk brake kit wont offset your rim/tires you should have no problem. but thats with a 3'' narrowed beam.

with stock front drums, trying to put fuch's on the beetle, is drilling the only way to get them under the front fenders? Would 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 wheels be better... 14's or 15's and then adapters on the back? I know lots of questions, just don't want to buy some wheels that won't work.

I'm not sure if your offset is the same as Jag's. I run 15x5.5 on the front of my 59 beetle with droped spindles. I had 15x6 before with a 2\" narrowed beam. The wheels would have fit without the narrowed beam if I didn't use the droped spindles as the spindles will add 3/4 inch to the track.

Drilling the drums/ rotors is the best way to go as it will not add any offset, adapters will work in some cases without any problem.  Keep in mind most adapters will add 3/4\" or more.

what size tire on the front with the 5 1/2 rim? I think I can live with a spacer at the rear to fill out the back a little more, just concerned about getting a normal turning radius, and not crunching the fender every time I turn. (was it a 14 or 15 rim you use)
