Get that man a prize! :mullet: But you don't really have to remove everything after though, from what I remember at least.
I assume it's a beetle and you're using the aftermarket pivots correct? If it is it's a lot easier to do than a Type3.
Good luck!

Ya sorry it is a 68 type 1 If I had only waited one more year LOL

Don't worry man it 'aint rocket science! It's actually fairly easy if you know how to weld - not saying I do :P but still do-able nonetheless. Let me know if you have any prob's!

You DO need a jig, don't even bother trying too weld them in without it. I have seen way too many pans get messed up from this. Ask Lanny and Rob, both of theirs ended up with bad alignment issues.
Call Jim at the shop 604-881-2233, we have the correct Jig.

Really? I'm not tryin' to start an argument about it but my wagon turned out beautiful. I even have all the papers from Dales Alignment where I did the 4-wheel after. Everything's perfect but maybe I just got lucky!

Damn you did get lucky. I'll let Lanny and Rob speak for how it went for them...... ;)

I took a superbeetle pan and grafted a standard frame head onto it instead of doing the whole alignment thing. Much easier, and as a bonus the newer pans have the shifter moved forward a couple of inches.
