I am getting some head work done on the baja bug, and if im racing the sportsman class i need to keep the stock EFI system on the car, SO i am trying to make the most of what i got...Porting a watercooled 8V manifold is a PITA, this extrude hone deal seems like the best bet.
i have found lots of extrude hone shops online, but none so far anywhere in canada.
trying to save myself from having to mail parts out..
if anyone knows of any shops that can get the job done, please let me know.

Ask Kroc about his opinion on extrude hone proting. You may not want to after he gives you a bit of info on it.

OK, if anyone can come up with a better idea i am all ears, i cant see a better way to get the job done on my type of manifold though, it would incease the volume of the intake (the plenum section) and it would smooth out the runners, so i cant see how it would be a bad thing..
the only other possible way to port this type of manifold is to cut it into peices, port it, and weld it back together..

I guess I should have read your post closer. I thought you were talking about the head. I don't think it would be an issue with the manifold. When I talked to Darren about cyl. heads, he said that EXH doesn't work properly compared to a good old handported set. I do see your point. The counter flow manifolds are cavernous. I'm sure if Darren sees this he will chime in.

Yeah i could see how it might not work out so well on a bug head, i dont see why you would bother when we can get kick a$$ heads local anyhow :)
Seems that i MIGH have some problems with my motor and the class i thought i could race in anyhow..if thats the case and i do need to race in the unlimited class i will just build another manifold.
we will see.. but at this moment im still lookin for a local extrude hone shop.
