its been a while since i have filled up a stock bug tank...
i need to get a fuel cell for my baja ASAP...and am trying to get an idea of how much gas i should be packin around...
the stock tank held enough for me...but im not sure how large it is compared to these RCI cells im looking at..

A stock Vw bug fuel tank holds 40L or 10.6 US Gallons.

40 liters? wow...no wonder i could not do the math..last time i filled up a stock tank, the high test musta been MUCH cheaper..

i have been lookin at 15 gal tanks, sounds kinda huge now.

There are also aftermarket 16 gallon tanks on the market.

I think the Super beetle tank may hold 40l, but the std beetle tank holds 8.8gal, I believe.

Are they bigger up top or down low....thinking clearance up top. Would be a good one for a buggy :) . Do you know where to get them?

it looks like you can get pretty much any size cell you could hope for...
it looks like 12 gal, 15 gal and 20 gal are STD... but MOPAC seems to carry most of the foam filled cells..you can get them from 1 gal and up.
go to the summit web page and search fuel cell and it will give you an idea of whats on the market..and good prices.
12 gal is the ticket for me...fuel is heavy..no need to pack more than 12 gal i dont think.

:D I think they are 8 imp. gal. :D I remember my first bug was a 65 and I could fill it up for about 4 bucks every time. Gas was 52 cents a gallon...... :( ......crap I want a time machine.
