Title: Maxi Filter Oil Sumps

Thinking about using the maxi filter for the 40 horse, anyone have on opinion on these things?  Good or not?  Any insight would be great.

I bought 1 and ended up extending the pick-up tube another 3/4\" lower into the sump in the filter.  I made up another adapter tube on the lathe.  The regular spot for the pick-up tube is only 1/2\" lower than stock, and that is where the maxi bolts onto the case and could suck air easily.  It's no wonder some people have still had oiling issues with them.  Now atleast mine is sucking oil from the extra capacity in the sump.
