Title: Hi, I Am The Hulk
Post by: Shane on November 19, 2005, 05:32:14 PM
Well,
Thought I would do some work on my new car today, I have been working on it when I have had time,
I have gone through the 2007cc I bought for the DC, Changed the tin(Thanks Nivag). Put the stock Oil cooler back in and added a full flow to a remote filter. and put on a ceramic exhaust, with a Fat boy. Dual Dells still have to go on. Here are some pictures.

Thanks again Steiner

This one is for you Kirin, I could not find a cell phone so I used a tape measure
(https://airspeedparts.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.1976bus.com%2Fgallery%2Falbums%2Fuserpics%2F10005%2Fnormal_234%2520inches.JPG&hash=2c7031177d2f6a7dbc8a7ca2b0f5fe5f1ed92bd7)

Then I looked over and saw this
(https://airspeedparts.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.1976bus.com%2Fgallery%2Falbums%2Fuserpics%2F10005%2Fnormal_Hulkcover.JPG&hash=1d5529da1200947fdbf7a2b9fb6b3e0a5a384aac)
So I thought, hmmmmm just got the trans back from Terry, (Thanks again Terry  )
I had broke a tooth off third gear and my ring and pinion was shot. I sure miss this car as I never got very far with it this year. So I figured I would put the Trans back in(thanks for the lift 76bus) and start to clean all the underside. If you guys have ever seen this car when Jim had it you would know what I mean. Time to put some effort into the HULK so Kleetus will get off my back.
Hoping to be on the track for Great Canadian next year... Hoping, Just need to stop buying cars..
(https://airspeedparts.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.1976bus.com%2Fgallery%2Falbums%2Fuserpics%2F10005%2Fnormal_Hulktrans.JPG&hash=f98704b6d119a449ef0639c2ccae676cc6995862)
So Trans back in and time to clean every bolt and wipe the entire underside and wheel wells out clean..
(https://airspeedparts.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.1976bus.com%2Fgallery%2Falbums%2Fuserpics%2F10005%2Fnormal_HulkRear.JPG&hash=f10c510e8794c1600487ac894d5e30eb4e046a62)
I think I may need a detail guy over after I am done prepping the car for the engine, ( Hey PM you know any good guys? )

AS I get it closer and closer to race ready I will add pics, I will also add more on the vert as I make it road ready....
DC is the third one unlucky here as I want to finish these two cars first, Also the Vert stole the DC's engine..
and Butter ball needs nothing so it will be the first driver.. ;)

I think he was just trying to make it look old so his looks better ;)

it can be done but to get good results it's best to strip the old powdercoating off.we can not do it at our shop it's too tuff for out blaster.
in all honesty it should clean up pretty decent if it is powdercoated.
looks good shane

by the way did you see the vert forsale in victoria??

Well, The family and I decided to head to California for Christmas, I figured I would check out some local vw shops out here and see what they had to offer....and I found this at VW Paradise
(https://airspeedparts.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.1976bus.com%2Fgallery%2Falbums%2Fuserpics%2F10005%2Fnormal_San%2520Diego%2520003.jpg&hash=98bc66df89c90b5b206a2cbb6d4f81f4b413a0a6)

Right now they are extremley busy with sand rail season approaching, Chris is building himself a Turbo charged watercooled long travel.. Jason was building a few engines for a few people... I will try and get some pictures of teh shop as it is a machine shop dream.. Boys have been great as have Mom and Dad, Dad took my trailer to his house for me so I don't have to tow it around looking at the sites... Stay posted for more pics as I get them.... This is going to be one helluva Christmas.....
Stay posted..
