the oilcooler adapter on a type one motor, changed the doghouse cooler for an external, need to know wichis out and in

I believe that if your going to an external oil cooler than it doesnt matter, unless your running an external filter as well.

have to know wich one is hot becuase of the fan switch

The top one is the outlet it should go to the lowest point of your cooler unless you are runninfg a filter then it must go trough it first.At least that is how mine is ( top out )

Are you going to 911 cooling?
Other wize I would'nt do this . The stock cooler in a
stock doghouse shroud should always stay in there.
If you want to run an extra cooler , run the lines off
of the oil pump and plumb the case for the return.

Just leave the stock cooler in there or upgrade to a type four cooler in it's place. Either way these work very good. If your getting super high oil temps, something else is wrong , such as a type one setup in a type 3 where the cooling fan is now sucking up hot exhaust heat instead of fresh cool air. ;) Some sort of remote cooler instead of the stock will not fix this no matter what and probably just make it worse.

well everthing runs fine, doesnt over heat, so you were sayin, this isnt a hackjob conversion, and i never had a problem with my temp, changed my fan shroud, wanted the look , and i also wanted the look of the external oil cooler with a electric fan, , the back compartment of this car has been totally sealed from the inside, the inner quaters have been cut to allow flow from theside louvers, any hot air from the header will escape very rapidily because of the big opening in the back, and the downforce of the air through the fan, yes i understand that heat rises and that it could trap itself in the engine bay, but with constant air flow i do not see a problem with this, if you guys have any comments please share, would like to know if there is anything i am missing
