I am a currently a head chef, the job is for a chef trainer in the hospitals that Sodexho / Contract catering company have won the contract for, the job is in Vancouver, The sunshine coast and Squamish , they will pay the cost of the gas and maintainance of the vehicle, 2 weeks paid holiday a year, basically they are rolling out new menus and need a chef trainer to go in and train other chefs, the contract is planned for nine months. :D

2 weeks holidays is entry level - I'd ask for 3

How much per Km for your vehicle?

How much did they offer for salary?

40k here is likely alot different than there - 40k isn't a bad yearly income but a second income would be needed for alot of locations (cost of rent etc...)

i agree with james. ask for three weeks, that's a good recognition of yer skilz. $40k, tho, isn't bad, especially because our cost of living is A LOT less than in the UK. yeah, second income would help big time; but i seem to recall your wife is a nurse -- so the combo would be fine.

Yeah ,but isn't it time for the nurses to go on strike again? :D Seems like you have to factor strike time into your savings plan these days...
