Where does this family's name come from?   My sister inlaw know's of many families as she works for CLA Advocacy in Langley and her job is to help families in need.   She knows many, and can make sure the money is going to a family that really needs it and will appreciate it.

Alicia Devries   604-530-7344  She works Monday  to Thursday in the office, and on call for the rest of the week.  I can pm you her cell # if needed.

Alright I have our family information. We will be helping a single mother of 4 this year, ages are as follows:

1. 14 year old boy
2. 12 year old girl
3. 10 year old girl
4. 4 year old boy

Lets make this a special christmas for these kids and their mother - It doesn't matter how big or small your contribution is; it just matters that you have helped someone in need so please consider contributing.

A special thanks to those that have already volunteered time and money - I will be contacting you in the coming weeks to arrange everything.

Update and a Bump:

Cindy and I purchased some sundry items and a present for the mother over the last couple days. Money wise from contributions we are at ONLY $120 dollars which is really nowhere near where we need to be.

A number of people have pledged help financially and otherwise and I would just like to remind you of that and for anyone else considering helping please let me know asap as this is a very busy time of year and I can't leave this to the last minute to shop for.

Again here are some ways to help:

MONEY! - EVEN A FEW BUCKS MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!!
DRY GOODS
GIFT CERT'S - FROM SUPERSTORE PREFERABLY
PRE-WRAPPED (OR NOT) PRESENTS - PLEASE LABEL
SHOPPING HELP

Thanks everyone for your help!

Just so everyone has the time frame - We will being delivery the christmas cheer on the 17th (next saturday.) Not much time left. I would like to ask that if you are wanting to contribute that you please let us know, or better yet get it to us by wednesday, please. This will give us a chance to even out the gifts and organize food etc.

A great trick is to go through the cupboards and pass on the canned goods that were purchased with good intentions but never eaten. (James this is a reference to your whims on ethnic diversity in our menu, and then never getting around to utilizing the ingredients.) Anything and everything you guys have would be awsome!!!!

All is appreciated!!!

You guys ROCk!!!!

this was mentioned a little last year and i think the consenses was just having one or two drop the stuff off.it takes alot for people to ask for help and if alot of people showed up i think it would make it an uncoufortable situation.
i'll let James or Cindy pitch in but i remember it being discussed last year

It's everyone that donated who should get the praise, the amounts donated were astounding! Beautifully done guys!!!

Change of plans for the food shop and delivery of all the goods; Looks like James and I will have Huricane Rylie along for the ride and if this is the case, shopping needs to be swiftly executed. If memory serves the cart(s) fill up mighty quick. Another person (or 2 ) to join us on the shop, and humping the goods in and out of the cars(s) to under the Fam's tree etc, would be great! Let us know if you're available.

Alright - All those interested in helping to shop meet at the IHOP on the langley Bypass at 08:30, we'll have breaky and plan the attack there.

For delivery I would like to make it low key outta respect for the family asking for a hand during this expensive time of year, maybe a volunteer or 2 would be cool for delivery, not a whole posse.

Alright mission Accomplished!!!

We did a mad shop this morning, thanks to those that came out and helped!!! When it was all said and done there was a mountain of food,Gift Cert's and presents for the entire family. It really puts things into perspective when you visit someone in the position this family is and it make you realize how good things are and makes you thankful for what you have.

I truly mean this when I say it that you all are amazing for how you pull together, I couldn't imagine being part of any other community and I am grateful to call this my VW family. On behalf of the family we made a merry christmas for this year thank you all, you should all be proud.

I would like to thank James and Cindy for making this all happen for a family in need.

These days I seem to have a bit more money than time.  It takes time and effort to gather all the funds and stuff, do all the shopping, and present all the goodies.

Mad props to the both of you and everyone who stuck in thier two cents.  It makes me feel real good around this time of year.

Merry Christmas all!
