well i think i know, the pump runs off a points system on the heater fan shaft, wich in turn sends a signal to the pump metering how much fuel is sent to the heater, can anybody confirm this?

the pump runs intermitantly (sp?) it should not run steady

Any ideas on how to wire up a P1502 gas heater that mounts above the transmission?

When my electrician was checking the parts I have he told me about the pump

Are you talking about a remote pump under the gas tank for a late BN-2, or the pump mounted on the heater for an early BN-2 or B-2?

Late BN-2 metering pumps (Remote mounted) should tick every 2-3 seconds continuously when connected to the timing points in the heater (heater fan running). Should only tick once every time the power is applied on the bench. As for testing it needs to be wired to the heater and have a hose run to a graduated container and amount of fuel measured after the time specd. in the manual. Hope this helps.
