So I went into the DMV to find out what I could do about a car that I purchased a few months ago.All I had where some old transfer papers from 1988.They sent me over to the local insurance office. The original owner had signed them but never transfered the car over to anybody. So the insurance office verified that the car was still owned by the same owner and sure enough I was able to use the original transfer papers from 1988.If I didn't have those papers what a nightmare.I would have had to put an ad in the local papers asking for the original owner to come forward.After two weeks I would have to cut out the ad to prove that I tried to contact the owner and then get the car notorized to register it in my name.Whew! 56 oval
