Title: King Pins
Post by: Mike Scott on October 12, 2005, 08:41:48 PM
I have a new king pin kit, the pins seem larger than opening on new dropped spindles. I have heard of an align reaming and then pressing. What exactly is this and can I do it at home or is there somewhere local that does it?

Cheers
Mike

Probably too late now but yes the new king pin bushings need to be pressed in then reamed . Then the new pin pressed into the assembly and them new link pin bushings presses in etc. etc.

Duane in Langley does them - he did a bang up job of my old 60's ones.

I'd say count on approx.  2 hrs give or take  for a complete rebuild of both if they are already off the car.
