Title: Welder Needed
Post by: mike on August 08, 2005, 11:43:41 AM
Hey guys!

I'm in need of an aluminum welder. I have some AN fittings that I need welded on to my valve covers.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!
Michael

I'm on holidays or I would get it done for ya at work - Chief Chassis should be able to, otherwise ditch the AL and go stock, then you just need a good wire feed mig.

Give Roseys fabrication a try. Hes done work for me and did a fine job to boot. Geoff should have his number.

Thanks  snapper.

Calling around to see who can do it. Called a shop on the north shore first and they said they can't weld cast aluminium. Is this true?

Are you welding on fittings for breather hoses?

I guess you might already know..... I think you can buy threaded AN bungs with a nut and o-ring, similar to the ones found in the breather box kits.

Not sure if that's an option? Might be less expensive?

Just curious, is there a reason to weld in?

Mike

Damn!... i didn't know they made those!  I'll have a look through the earls catalog to see if i can find them.

Not a fan of welding but i figure it was the only way of getting it done when it came to aluminium.

I'll definatley check out the o-rings.

Thanks!!!  :D
