Title: Clearancing For 12v Flywheel
Post by: Mike Scott on July 11, 2005, 09:20:57 AM
Does anybody have any pictures of a clearanced 6V tranny for a 12V flywheel? Where do you take the material from?

Thanks
Mike

Do you have a 12V flywheel handy? Use it to size up how much you need to remove from the bellhousing. The areas at 8, 4, 10, and 2 o' clock are the areas that intefere the most.

I've got my motor out and was just looking at the bellhousing last night thinking what a quick hack job I did on mine. It's mostly the bulges that the engine bolts come through that you have to shave down. Ill take a pic tonight and try and post it (haven't had much luck with pic's) Don't forget to put in a 12v starter pinion locating bushing and red loctite it in.

Thanks Guys,

I actually do have a spare 12V flywheel handy, never thought to just do a test fit. Try that out tonight.
