Title: Importing A Vw Into Canada
Post by: 72vwtype2 on June 29, 2005, 10:49:21 PM
I found the post below on the Type2 mail list I belong to. I have advised him to check out this website and become a member. Perhaps someone can give him some advise. I can't seem to find the recent discussion on this topic.

Here it is:

Jerry,

I have posted your request on the following Website:

www:Airspeedparts.com

If you are moving to BC this is best local (Vancouver Area) VW website, you should consider becoming a member. In addition Air Speed will be able to supply you with your aircooled needs. There are many knowledgeable individuals on your particular issue, because many of them have imported VW's from the US (I personally have not).

Welcome to BC and Good luck with importing your VW. Phil.

Hi folks,

I'm moving to Canada (specifically, BC) and want to bring my '70 bus with me.  If any of you has done this before and wouldn't mind answering some questions, would you please pmail me?

Thanks!

Hi, I just imported my ghia last feb from WA state, so if you have any questions I might be able to help a little. I am really busy these days so be patient if I don't email you back immediately. Cheers, Steve-xcasper@vcn.bc.ca

I just brought my 23 in from wyoming it was easy. I paid a broker a $100 Canadian and he did all the work. Just make sure you have a title in your name or a bill of sale from the previous owner and the previous owners title and your good to go. Send everything to the broker and let him know when you are bringing it across and to what border crossing and he will have it all arranged. hppe this helps.
