Title: Accelerator

hey guys.. this is definatly going to sound dumb... ive got a 69 bus and my gas peddle isnt commin back up... i tried to get the spring that goes under the gas peddle to the floor but i cant get it by the time i need it.. so i rigged something up underneith to push the peddle back up... i still cant get enough pull to get the peddle all the way up.. anybody have any ideas on another way i should try to hook up springs to get the damn thing to pop right back up? thanks guys ...

maybe you need to replace your accelerator cable?

could it be that the spring in the engine compartment attached to the throttle arm is broken or off??
