Hello! I guess I've gone about things sort of backwards. I have been posting stuff on the forums but have never really introduced myself.
My name is Jen and I drive a 69 Karmann Ghia which I have had for 10 years. I discovered your great site and am really enjoying hearing about everyones cars and a learning a lot in the process. I have been so obsessed with keeping my car stock and being overwhelmed with just where to start that I haven't done anything substantial other than mechanical work since I bought the car. I am finally determined to take care of some body repairs and paint my ghia. I don't want to do half assed job so was hoping that some of you could guide me thru the process. Where do I start? What should I watch out for? Can the work be broken into \"chunks\" to make it a little more affordable? I usually drive my car only during the summer and store it in the winter. I live in North Van and don't have the knowlege or tools to do a lot of the work myself. I am planning on heading out to the Great Canadian VW Show- would anyone be willing to take a peek at my ghia and give me their opinion?
Thanks! :D

Welcome Aboard!!!
I would suggest for paint and body to hit Slammedbus up for a quote - he painted my car and did an outstanding job and is very reasonably priced. You can see pictures of my car on my website at www.actop20.com - it is the Copper colored bug.
Otherwise at the GCVW show come up to one of our club members (DGLVK) and ask about your car - we would be more than happy to look at it for you. Brian, one of our members has a beautiful example of what can be done with a ghia as his is a multi show winner.

Feel free to drop by Airspeed, we would be glad to take a peek at your Ghia and offer any help we can.
Geoff.
