Title: Pan Switch
Post by: Jeremy on May 20, 2005, 11:03:59 AM
I'm looking to switch the swing axle pan on my '59 to an IRS to avoid the excessive camber when lowered in the back. What kind of legal issues am I looking at here? If I find a pan without papers is this going to cause me problems when I go to insure it with ICBC? Someone out there done this before? Cheers. Jeremy

cut the numbers outa your old pan and weld them into your new pan...
or weld over the new pan numbers and go to lordco and get a set of punches with the #s and letters on them...grind the weld down flat and stamp in new numbers if your worried.

personally ICBC should Fuck off and die as far as im concerned dont worry about those pussys.

The correct way is to get ownership of the chassis.  Then when you build the car they will inspect the VINs and add the chassis number to your registration with your original's 58 VIN.
