Title: Meyers Manx

My neighbour has a meyers manx,  he got it with some other parts from an old guy who has a ton of vw stuff.  The stupid thing is he paid the guy for the other stuff and the guy gave him the manx to get rid of it???????  The body is good, the hood has a crack, the pan is ok, I'm not sure how to tell an original manx pan from a home joby.  

How do you figure out the serial # for information about it?

Serial # is M1401B810E

#1401 in February of 1968 Brilliant Red if I read it right.  Nice find Billy
