Title: What Do You Guys Do To Get Motivated?

Im trying to get motivated to build my short block, but it just aint happening, ive tried watching all my vw vids, and it just aint workin for me.......
what do you guys do??

Pick an event you are going to have you car at. Then tell everyone you are going to be at that event with your car. Then plan out backwards how you are going to get it done by then and Do It!. Kinda like this.... I will have my 388 swing axle and new engine in my fasty and running by the end of may so I can drive it to The Classic!  There! Now I Have to get it done! that how I do most of MY projects done or else I would always be doing other guys projects.

What you need to do is go down to Surrey central skytrain station and pick yourself up a dime-bag 'o crack. A couple of hoots off dat sheet will make you wanna run a freakin' marathon. But you gotta be quick 'cuz you don't want your heart to explode before you get the job done! ^_^

I like  to start off with a good strecth. Don't wanna pull any muscles... Then I put on my mechanics gloves, My helmet and take the 50cc scooter for a 8km ride down 64th Ave.
Then I think what the F@$% am I doing??? Fat guy little bike... :lol:  :lol:  Time to get the Hulk ready... :rockon:

what works for me is a hand full of fatties..a case of stella and some loud ass ACDC...have a few smokes..and a few beers while scratching your head walking laps around the car...then go at it..
you will only get about 45 mins of actual work done in a 6hour stint..once the smoke and the beer takes over..start doing the easy stuff..like hammer work..ya know..fitting the dizzy...setting the deck hight..putting on crank pullys. (just dont miss the swing and smoke the case!!)..dont let your friends start drilling any holes untill they have explained it to your drunk ass first

well it worked (sorta) my car is in more pieces now, drag bar, rear carrier mount, spring plate and caps are off to the powdercoaters tommorow. shes gonna be pretty..... on the inside.

1 Shoot your mouth off, smack talk a bunch of people

2 Go to the track and blow by some \"big\" engine cars

3 Get above said people's panties in a bunch

4 Rebuild over winter, and do it all over again :)

thanks,i haven't looked through that whole post in a while.now i'm pumped all of a sudden my to-do list's don't look so bad .trust me if anyone know's how easy it is to burn out and loose motivation on a project it's me. since i work in the auto buisness [sure danny can relate ] the last thing i really want to do is work on cars but,i took a long break from vw's as a hobbie and now with the added stress's of work and family the time i spend in my garage is priceless.i think the key to self motivation is being able to visualize the end result and keep moving toward it no matter what.
or danny just pretend your the little engine that could and repeat.

Another way I motivate my self is put on my wife's high school prom dress, my double sole dayton's (dayton's are a sign of age if you don't know what they are ask your dad)that I bought in jr high , and a pink fluffy bunny ear hat ( like the one seen in the movie Gummo if you haven't seen that movie it's only for a twisted mind). Then go for a jog down south fraser way. If that don't motivate you to get you ass back in the garage nothing will.

Check this out... I think his fastest time was 10.2 @ like 136mph

Go into the forum and under the posting of Official Bug In I think it's on page 3 or 4 has the Fiat that was running 10's.

Sorry Brian there were no Fiats like yours just that Fiat 800 or 850 I think.
