Putting the new front end in the Ghia, I went to put the rotors on and could not get the coupler nut more that three threads on?? So I check clearance on the backside of the rotor and the bearing is not sliding up the shaft, Does anyone know is Drum brake spindels are larger in diameter that disc? Have I been sold a Drum brake front end? I noticed that there is a Clearcoat substance on the spindels, should i take that off. I tried brake clean with no results I dont have a micrometer to measure Spindel diameter but I dont know if the New front ajustable front ends are lacking in the quality department like so many other VW aftermarket items.
Please Help Trying to put together tonight!!
Cheers!

If you bought it at CIP then most likely you have cheap chinese bearings with the wrong inner race size. Seems like they always have a bad fit, you can sometimes make them work by using some emery cloth to clean the spindles. Try good bearings (German) If this is a set of rotors that was on the car before it may be the clear coat that is put on the rebuilt Brazilian spindles, that stuff can be fairly thick.
Disc spindles have the two ears with the caliper bolt holes, a Drum spindle will not have those. That being said the spindle shaft OD is the same on drum and disc spindles from 68-77
Give me a little more info and I'll help ya figure it out.
