Berg Trans, Is that including the guy with the Ghia (the one Lanny painted the pan on?) Bruce T, and Hanawas?
I know they are not on the road yet but It sure seems like more people are going that way now.

well, I did mention I had a car to test one in.......... And I will exchange the extra 4spd conversion kit I have for a 5 kit. But after I tire of drag racing and I retire from Boeing and move to Arizona, Nevada or Florida, I'll be building a baja to phart around in, does a baja need a 5spd(?) . A '51 baja........... :o

While I have done tons of work to everything, the car still looks the same, body sitting on saw horses, engine on stand, pan on jack stands. It would be the same old boring pix. But with any kind of luck it could be painted in the next couple of weeks......... :)

A guy named Robert Marziale also has a 5. It's in a Ghia pan I built a few years ago. He just has to find a suitable Ghia body..

Guess I can't join the club since I'm not a Vancouvernite (is that a word?) But for what it's worth my Berg 5 is sitting and waiting to go into the 56 pan.

We're Vancouvians Trev.

Get off your ass and install that trans.  You've had it for 4-5 months now.  I bet mine is in before yours!  I got my engine and trans out last night.  I'm fitting up for the mid mount next, then comes the BFH to make room at the front.

Yeah your right Bruce...yours probably will be in before mine. My affliction is iceracing during the winter, so that has taken a large portion (time and money) away from the 56 project. Dam this addictive personality of mine!

Trev, I got the mid mount in with the ears welded on.  Clearancing on a late car is a breeze compared to all the early junk   :o
There was one problem with the aluminum mount.  The tube hits the left frame horn.  I had to file the holes a good 4-5 mm.  Problem is there's not enough meat to do this, so I had to weld onto it.  I blame Lanny for this since I copied his copy of a Berg mount.  I noticed his was tilted, but made the foolish assumption that it must fit since he's been using it for several years.  So when I made mine, I tilted them too.
