Title: 1978 Type 2 Transporter
Post by: Custom76Bus on January 12, 2005, 01:09:24 PM
Woo. Got me a cheap bus today....a t least i'm gonna go finish the transaction in a few hours... so i'm just jumping in anticipation right now :P

Its a rusted bodied runner with a strong frame and a decent sounding engine :S... the hardest part will undoubtedly be aircare! We'll see how that goes :S

But yippie for me, I'll be driving a bus around... finally... screw waiting till i get that 76 on the road... lol. I'll put pics up when i take some.

Thar she is..... previous owners called her gracy. Guess I'll leave it at that. It certainly has a lot of body rust but the frame is strong...

Oh yea... so I figured I'd take it through aircare to see what i had to start with after I picked it up... well smack me silly the bloody thing passed !!! WOOHOO!!! RUnning aircared bus for under $400!! Can't be too annoyed with that  B)

Facking cold cruising at this time of year thougH!!! Although, bonus - came with snow tires!! Perfect timing ;D.

At least one did :P

You can find em... its just patience... i've been idly searching around for a few months for a beater car... and whadda kno its turned out to be a fun little bus!! :D

About the lightning.. if i could just put a small jar where my exhaust connects to the frame... I could collect all the little lightning strikes that happen from there when i'm driving... mebbe make some money on the side :S... or else I could just make a proper ground for my engine... yikes
