Post by: red snapper on December 09, 2004, 03:56:48 PM
Its pretty quite in here so Im wondering and waiting to see if were going to have hockey again. What has everyone been doing with their spare time to replace watching the games.  Do you even give a crap? Just wondering.

I have pretty much written off the season, but... If the lockout was over as of mid January, I will have 8 games left in my 15 game ice pack ^_^  ^_^  :D

so that only accounts for about 2 minutes.  ;)  what about the rest of the time?

starting the season now would be a complete waste of time.

i heard the players took a bit of a paycut. poor bertuzzi now only gets 15 mil over the 3 years instead of 21 mil.

I'm personally a-okay with the lock-out and heres why. A bunch of players like Danny heatley , Ric Nash, And Joe Thorton are playing in the Swiss inter-city league. Meanwhile they are only bringing in about 5000 francs per game(Like 5000 bucks). Euro-hockey is pretty cool and seems much more of a long game and less checking. And the fans are to die for. think 16000 people crammed into a building some standing room only and lots of screaming and crazy banner waving... And you got swiss hockey.
I thought the swiss were so reserved... :P

doesnt sound very cool to me. dont they have acres of ice too? in hockey, you need a shorter and narrower rink to make the game more challenging and exciting. and what is hockey without checking? come on now.  ;) and 60 minutes is perfect. if you're at a real hockey game, you wont be able to see straight after 60 minutes.

but, i bet you're not paying $7.50 for a beer over there.

LOL
Yeah beer is cheap at 3 bucks for a pint of Feldschlossen(Hence the term \"Lets get Feldschlossened tonight!) Your right about the long game. To much time skating but remember many european hockey players are little guys so when people like Ric Nash and Danny Heatley get out there they beat the crap out of them. BTW Danny Heatley is down for the count right now. He took a puck in the eye a few weeks back.
