hey all.it's been a while,

 i'm in the market for some meats for my 79 bus and i'm wondering what you guys use for snow tires.i checked out national tire wholesale, but they dont have any 6 or 8 ply 14\"snowies for a van. there must be tons of 4 ply out there, but i want some heavy duty tires as i'll be travelling to s. america in the spring and i want something that will last and ride right. im in langley for 2 days and was hoping 1 of you might point me in the right direction.

Try California Tire in langley (near aircare) they can get you what ya need.

If you can find Uniroyal tiger paw mud and snows they are the winter tire that my dad uses on his ranger(Which I drove all last winter) compared to the crappy OEM good for a year wrangler. They have great grip awesome tread(Can be studded). For the 275 75 r15's they were a bitch to find a snow tire in that size. But for a bus(14 inch wheel) it shouldn't be to bad. And do realize there is a big differance in quality in tires.

hey james! i'll go check out california tire this morn; im going ridin sun peaks for three days, leaving this afternoon!!! so i need some in a hurry for the coke. thanks for the info

ok.

i called everybody in town this morn and found out that snow tires for 14 \" rims with 6 or 8 ply sidewalls are next to impossable to get. apparently 1 company in finland makes a heavy dudy 185 75 r14. WTF. what have people been using in the snow for the last 20 years? i dont get it. now i need to buy some shitty chains, and f**k around in the snow when i need to get up to mt washington or anywhere where you need good traction. if anyone has any other options im all ears...

I might have some chains for a 14\" (may be 15\") you can have them if they are still kicking around. I'll look tonight.

Your probably referring to Hakkepellitta (sp?) They are probably the best M+S tire on the market to date. They also now make a true all weather tire. Not like these so called allseason a lot of shops sell.
