i've been driving them (almost) daily since october 1990 (1989 if you count the \"unlicensed\" years ;) ). and i say almost because my 56 has been off the road for 2 years and i owned a volvo briefly. B)

Post by: Al Canuck on December 09, 2004, 01:13:40 AM: Got my first VW & Porsche magazine in 1984. I was 8. It coincided with my dad buying a brand new Jetta diesel. I've since owned 16 VW's, albeit all water pumpers. I have welded floor pans into a 72 Beetle, and restored the interior in a 62 Beetle, as well as having a hand in many other aspects of that same 62.

I've owned the 'Bert for 2 goin onto three years(Gosh has it really been that long!?) and its gone through a bunch of iterations.

Post by: Needles on December 09, 2004, 03:40:31 PM: In 1975 my friend bought a 60 bug--300.00 We went to his uncles house and got the left over 'orange & YELLOW' shag carpet and proceeded to carpet the dashboard, headliner and doors. Un fortunately, or fortunately we did'nt have enoght for the floor...what the hell were we thinking??? :rolleyes: Strange things you do when your 15 yrs old.

Post by: el_flechador on December 10, 2004, 10:40:44 AM: I've been afflicted ever since i hid in the sandpile in the back of a builders single cab who came to build an extension on our house, he then drove off with me init, i watched him swig beer for a mile or so before i announced myself to him(first time i heard the phrase\"stupid c**T!!) I remember getting a good beating of the old fella when i got home, i was about 6 or so.
Since then i've had aircooled in one form or another along with a bunch of other german stuff, sometimes just to buy and sell probably well over a hundred by now. Presently have a 65 panel which i will be rolling in as soon as i get it back from the states and through VI / aircare :rockon:

i actually did mean to say back back. it's not the back seat, its the back back seat. (also known as the luggage area). ;)
