Lets hear it! My first beetle was a 65 baja when i was 11 it had wood floors and a 1641!
When i was 16 i bought a 68 that had so much heat you had to put your left leg as far away from the heater as you could becasue it would burn you! I wish i never sold that one!
-
65 beetle, bought it in bellingham towed it home and she fired right up.
i loved the car but i did some really bad things to it in the 80's that i though were cool (i piece windows and i painted the engine tin pink and seafoam ughh)
funny thing is the car was sold locally in 94 and i see it every year at the great canadian (now resides in cambell river)
-
my first car was a 73 super beetle, i bought it purple and sprayed it with green crappy tire paint, 19 cans of it
the car lasted a year, floors were rotted, and the motor blew going up 200st at 4500 rpm, cool car tho :P

1967 Beetle. The following link has the picture and story
First Car (http://www.mosbackyard.com/volkswagen.htm)
-
still have my first beetle ,owned it now for 24 years. alot of cars have come and gone but not that 68 .that poor car hasn't had it easy , i hope its as happy with me as i am with it.
-
first car and first vw was a 71 super beetle.
it was bone stock + a set of studded snow tires on the back. it saw more off road than on. i grew up on denman island and the 4x4 trails there were plentifull. that car could go anywhere that 4x4 could go. it also got me to & from high school for my senior year. and provided me with many fond memories and good rides.
it was christened \"lil drop o' honey\" and my friends and i started our car club, the road pirates.
dayum, i put that car through the ringer and beat the living piss out of it daily. we all know how we were when we were 16-19. ;)
someday i will build a badass baja and call it \"lil drop o' honey II\" in her memory.

Mine was a 74 standard... pounded her and slapped on 19 cans of Crappy Tire Aqua paint... and euro mirrors... Yeah baby ,oh yeah and a wink mirror.... she was the shiat!!!!! inside was OG Yellow....Bought my self a sparkomatic cassette player for it.
-
Mine was a 74 super I bought in Whitehorse. Had to drain the water from the fuel tank and drove it all summer and drove back to alberta. Still had the vw canada tires on it. Then drove it back up the next summer and back again. Good car. Abused the heck out of it but it kept going.
-
My first was a 72 squareback, crappy automatic that barely went. But it looked good when it was waxed.
-
75 standard, the chick I bought it from was hot so that's how I got into vw's.......Wonder where she is now.....
-
Mine was a 1967 blue deluxe. It had flared fenders, 13 mickey thompsons on the back, and a holley bug spray!
-
67 square. Started pulling it apart right away. New floors, IRS rear clip, tacked in the heater channels, slammed it, then the barn fell over :(
-
74 std yellow slammed, with a bone freaking stock motor. ass slow, absolutely NO suspension, awful to drive, but was cool to look at.... then my bro got a hold of it and did some \"body modifications\"
then i got the 63 that i have now!-

body modifications, is that kinda like silas' travelling butt pirates club.
-
Must run in the family as Dannyboy uses loose tires to do his body mods...
-
My first car was a 72 beetle. It was lowered with special baja edition wheels and pinstriping on the side. I also painted it bright yellow with brown interior. AHHHHHH the 80s were a fun time.

73 super death trap beetle
drove the hell out of it.
rusted away and traded it for some work on another car, the guy who took it from spent $4500 at a body shop getting all the rust cut out and replaced with fresh metal.

69 T3 fuel injected automatic Fastback , my Dad draged it out of a field. We rebuilt the motor and it ran awesome. Had it up to 100mph once. I too beat the day lights out of it and all my other VW's .
-
My first vw was a 66 got for free from an neighbour, Four of us got bugs, nocked out the windows , put up a drivers door safety net, Seat belt, and a helmet and went blind man's demolishion derby in a corn field. We were only 15 but what a hoot. Marcel

My first vw is my 62 beetle. Also for a period last year I also had a \"Trail rail\" that I eventually sold after I figured out it was to much of a project...

-
My first was a $400 '72 Super Beetle.Lots of body work and a Ford grabber blue paint job...electric antenna in rear tail light...fenders welded on and smoothed over. I didn't know much about VW's back then. Was welding rear fender mount area and smelled something burning  . Melted the rear wiring harness together :o Patched it up with a few miles of electrical tape. No heat and -40 winters
-
'63 1500 N with sunroof (a notchback), my High school car. Don't remember seeing another one in so-cal back then, plus it was almost new.
