sorry dont know why it double posted!
i am just wondering if anyone has knowledge about audi's? i drive a 1988 5000. when it is raining out, and i start it up. it sputters when starting, and then when i am accelerating it sputters aswell. i figure it has to do something with the fuel injection. and also this one hasnt happened for a while, but a couple of times when coming to a stop, it would die.
thanks for the help
james.

There is a boot that connects the fuel injection body to the fuel distributor. It's very similar to the problem I was having with my VW Jetta. I found that there was a crack in the boot causing all sorts of problems. It's a very simple fix. Took me all of about 5 minutes...... unfortuneatley it took about 4 hours of trouble shooting to find.....

Four hours....wasn't that like four years.....man I think we looked at your Jetta a million times....tell me it was more than a cracked boot...............DAMN!!!

Although the rubber intake boots can be a problem, it is not likely the cause of your troubles. See my reply in your other thread.
Al - Just replaced EVERY vacuum hose, and intake boot in my 535i. Runs much better now.
