Title: Oil Leak

i have oil leaking out of my front pulley on my bug,
all the breather vents are free. so why would it be leaking so much oil?
any help would be nice

Pulley? Are we talking about an Air Cooled VW motor?
I always thought the flywheel was on the front of the motor!

did you change to a lighter weight eng oil.
have you allowed extra eng warm up time due to the cooler weather.
either that or your rings may be causing  excessive crank case pressure.

Do a compression test. Having oil come out of the case by the rear pulley is usually \"blow by\", rings going away.
Or did you over fill the engine with oil?

good point on the oil level .!
last year i had a ring issue and also always had oil coming out past the pulley due to high crank pressures.fixed the rings and stopped the oil pumping
