Title: Is Someone Here A Body Man?
Post by: Al Canuck on October 27, 2004, 09:48:29 AM
I seem to recall that someone on this message board owns a body shop, and does resto type work? Am I wrong? If I am, would any of you guys have a sugegstion on who else might be good around lower mainland? My current body man went to California, and I fear that he isn't coming back. I have a stripped 2002 in my shop, waiting for some rust repair and paint. I also have a 70 3.0CS that needs to be done, and some more work in the future. Any ideas?

  Thanx,

     Al

I think little Jak-e does body work, didn't you see that bad-ass ride he posted up!

I'm hoping he'll get a couple of gallons of bondo together and do my next ride.

i thought matt was the resident body man? automattic autobody still in business matt?

if not, consider ryan at shortseurocustom. (thats his user name on the asf aswell as the name of his business). he is across the border in washington, but with the good $, it may be worth talking to him.

And he is tireing fast. I'm too busy for side work but not busy enough for going out on my own.

Ryan is a great guy, and I've seen his work. he does quality stuff. There is also Jason in Salmon Arm, goes by Slammedbus on here, he's about to do James' 66 in some gay shade of orange. :P

I'm still around, just not actively searching for work until the backlog gets taken care of.

Hey Jakub,

No, I never got your message. Send it again if you wish. Not sure that a BMW body job is a \"piece of cake\", but I'm willing to talk to anyone about this. Having many options is good.

I'm looking for the same (body work) on my 77 Westy.

What are the implications, if any, of getting the work done in the US by Matt or Ryan, in terms of customs.  Or is fudging the truth recommended?  Are they both out of Bellingham?  \"I just got it washed down there sir.\"

thanks

Ryan is from bellingham

Matt is from Abbotsford.

i really don't know how you would go about getting the work done there i assume you would have to declare the amount you paid for body work(i would fudge the truth a little)
