Hi guys  

I have a 69 bug  with a 1500  and was just curious  as to the opinion of this engine
I just brought the car home and got it running and is sounds good to me

If its still a 1500, it hasn't been rebuilt.  Original 83mm pistons are rare, so most 1500s were rebuilt as 1600s.
the 1500s are really good engines.  You should be able to get 200k miles out of it if you do a valve grind at 100k.
