Title: Jalousies Or No?
Post by: Custom76Bus on September 08, 2004, 03:10:09 PM
What are your type 2 opinons of the jalousies. I don't much like the look of them... i think they're clunky. I had been considering doing just the solid windows... but afraid it might be uncomfortably unbreathable. I don't have any vented windows back there so its either all solid... the usual 2 jalousies./.. or all solid and one slider window on the sliding door...

What do you guys think? Not sure of the condition of the jalousies... but i figure if I paint the alum black or something with all the tinting i'm gettng done it could look alright and keep that breathablitiy too... thoughts?

cheers,

I say no to the Jalousies...remember it's all about the look not the comfort

Yea, i kinda agree... lol

I'm strongly thinking of going with Solid all around except the sliding door... which i'll mount that one slider window i have... much less obtrusive than the jalousies.... i'll still paint the sliders frame though...

still, let me know your thoughts ppl... I've never driven a bus or camped in it... so i have no experience to base it on - just your ideas

Jalousies are a pain in the !!!! Go with solid,78-79 sliders or a vented but no Jalousies.

I think I have a bunch of solid and vent style windows if you need some.

True, this is the way I went...

Although... if you have actually driven a bay on a hot, hot August afternoon, sitting in traffic (or on a long trip possibly driving down to the CLASSIC 2005/return!?) with person on the rear seat--next to the engine/sub/amp!!! ,

It gets nastingly hot fast.. with no air flow!!!

Consider your priorities! Is the bus for you and the passanger next to you, will you be transporting friends around etc

Consider sliders or vents. Since yours is a 76 sliders  might look more appropriately.
For mine since it is a 72 Deluxe and came with vents... (see pics)

I'm going from having  4 straight tinted glass to venting 3 of the four next summer for comfort

Its costly because of the seals, but  for me looks better than jalousies.

I will be using it to transport kids, people and pets as it is will be set up for comfort...

My  two cents!!

Hmmmmm, not sure, one can see inside. Not Limo tint.
Got it done at 3M Tint on Barnet Hwy & Hastings north side of street in Firestone Bldg--equivalent to stock vanagon tint

I'm in Coq, if you need a-look-see...
