Hey, I have a large scale VW oval/Split window model that I have had for years. When I bought it (at a garage sale) the guy had started to put the engine together (3 or 4 small pieces) I am wondering if anyone out there has any idea if models are worth anything and if so is it a good idea to leave them unbuilt for that purpose? I am kinda getting the itch to build it....

Build the Damn thing!!! Like your gonna sell it!! Why dont you take it to work and build it. then you will like your job again ;)
Maybe you get the guys in the shop to build it for YA!!!

Dude, it's a frickin plastic model kit. You're not going to retire from the proceeds of that sale. Build it.

Build the Damn thing!!!
allright then.
lets start a pool to see who can guess how long it will take james to build this car.
i'm in for $5 and i think it'll take him 1 1/4 years to build.

I'm guessing it's a 1:12 scale kit by Revell of Germany. Out of production, but not particularly rare. First issued in the late 80's, it was probably $75.00 CAD new. Once started, it's way devalued, and essentially, you're the kind of guy it would be worth anything to. Build it and enjoy it.

Thanks Jason, it is in fact a 1:16th scale revell out of germany, sticker price on it is 82.29CDN
Model # 7488
Trademark on it is 1991
