Title: 12volt / 6volt

I am interested in buying a 65 bug.  The car has been converted to a 12volt battery but still running off of a generator.  He has to jump start his car every few days as the 12 volt is not holding the charge.  Is this a problem? Should I buy the alternator kit?  Need to know before purchasing the vehicle.  Thanks...

Is it a 6volt Gen? I would say yes upgrade to an alt anyways as it will give you more juice for your gadgets.

Dont forget to take the battery in to get it load tested! It could be toast if he keeps draining it. And I would upgrade to an alternator kit as well!
