\"samba link (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=49499)\" Anybody have any idea about this header? looks well thought out, and clean, although I have no idea about what is good, and bad.
I know that equal length pipes are imortant, but what about the collector? I noticed that the pipes from #2&4 cylinders have a very tight bend in them will this restrict flow?
just wondering.......

Those headers are made by A-1 in California. Really nice fit, leaves lots of room under the rear apron. They advertise in the VW magazines. I don't think they have a website yet. But no, equal length pipes are not as important as everybody makes them out to be.

Finally! I found a picture, in my files, of this A1 exhaust installed.
Bruce! Recognize the car?

Bill Schwimers car, Brad P also has one on his....as well as Jim Martin I think?
Geoff on Dannys comp.

Will Air Speed be carrying them?

I think I was there when Bill installed that header. I recognised Mark H's Konis.
One technical advantage Tiger's header has over the conventional type is the primary length. His design allows for a shorter primary than the others.

I'd like to see headers for T1 like the T4 headers, where the collector is perpendicular to the center-line of the vehicle.
I've never liked having the exhaust sticking waaaaayyy out the back with a big honking turbo muffler hanging out even further.
Especially after having someone vandalize my exhaust one night by standing on the dual QP muffler tips and bending the whole thing down!
Can't find a pic right now, but I think it really cleans up the whole look of the car when you can hide the exhaust (can you say sleeper?).
